Working with Liana and Cody was a photographer’s dream. They kept it simple, intentional (you’ll see that I believe that’s an important theme here) and gave us ample time to capture the day.
We started taking pictures at a beautiful overlook of the Blue Ridge Mountains right across the road from the church. We then headed out to Big Canoe, where they invited me to sit with their family for lunch in a cabin with the most insane view I’ve ever seen. We grabbed some pictures there before we headed out to some locations in the area that Liana and Cody actually picked out themselves weeks prior.
It was so much fun as a photographer to hang out with these two as we went from place to place, and as I followed the light to capture those genuine memories of this sweet day.
I left for Fainting Goat Vineyards, where I found family members setting up a reception area that made me swoon. They put together a Pinterest worthy wedding through careful consideration placed on all the details. I absolutely loved the long, family dining set up overlooking the mountains. There were 23 chairs set up for family and close friends and the decor was on point and referenced their lives, personalities, and their relationship.
After dinner, we caught the last light of day through blue hour. It was a very rewarding day, and it made me feel so honored that Liana and Cody asked me to be the one to document their love story. I wouldn’t be mad at all to serve more couples through days like these!
